Fake Tsum Tsum plushes have began flooding the market. Take extra precaution when purchasing Tsum Tsums from a non-Disney retailer. Use our guide to help identify fake Tsum Tsums.

How-to Detect a Fake Tsum Tsum
There are many ways to tell a fake Tsum Tsum apart from an authentic one. One of the most obvious signs is seeing an unreleased Tsum Tsum character.

Many fake Tsum Tsum also comes attached with a chain on the neck/back. Authentic Tsum Tsums do not come with a strap or chain on the back.

You can also spot fake Tsum Tsums based on the poor quality, different shades in color, and other subtle differences.
Real Tsum Tsum Vs. Fake Tsum Tsum

The one on the left is a fake Buzz Lightyear Tsum Tsum. Take note of the color and position of the eyebrows, the different nose, the wings (the wings are sewn-on completely on the real Tsum Tsum), and the loop.

“Tsum Tsum” is Japanese for “stack stack”. So how exactly do you pronounce “Tsum Tsum”? It is pronounced ‘soom soom’ (like ‘zoom zoom’ but with an ‘s’ in front).
